The Complete Setup Guide

A step-by-step walkthrough for IT Administrators. Learn exactly how to deploy Rakshak DLP from day one, including prerequisites, deployment scripts, and device approval.

Phase 0: Crucial Prerequisites (Read First)

Rakshak DLP is designed specifically for Chromium browsers (Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge). If an employee installs a different browser, they will not be monitored.

IT Action Required:Before deploying Rakshak, you MUST configure your Corporate Firewall, Windows AppLocker, or Antivirus to completely block the installation and execution of alternative browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Brave, Safari, and Opera. You must enforce a strict Chrome/Edge-only environment.
1

Sign Up & Get Your Company ID

Create your admin account on the Rakshak DLP platform. Once logged in, navigate to your Dashboard settings to find your unique Company ID. This ID links your employees' computers to your specific dashboard.

  • Go to `rakshakdlp.com/login` and create an account.
  • Purchase your required number of endpoint seats.
  • Copy your Company ID from the dashboard header.
2

Deploy the Setup Script (.bat)

You will be provided with a Windows Batch Installer script (rakshak-installer.bat). This script is designed for zero-touch deployment across your workforce.

How to run it:Transfer the `.bat` file to the employee's Windows PC. Right-click the file and select "Run as Administrator". You can also deploy this silently via Microsoft Intune or Active Directory GPO.
What the script does automatically:
  • Forces Extension: Installs the Rakshak Extension on Chrome & Edge. Users cannot uninstall it.
  • Blocks Tampering: Completely disables Developer Tools (F12) to prevent inspecting elements.
  • Closes Loopholes: Disables Chrome Incognito Mode and Guest Profiles permanently.
3

Approve the Device (Anti-Spam)

When an employee opens WhatsApp Web for the first time after the script is run, their computer will attempt to connect to your company network.

1. Pending State: The computer will appear in your Admin Dashboard under the 'Endpoint Devices' tab as "Pending Approval". At this stage, it does not consume a paid seat.
2. Approval: As the IT Admin, you must verify the computer and click "Approve". The device instantly consumes 1 seat, and the Rakshak security engine is activated on that computer.
4

Manage Policies from Dashboard

Your setup is complete! You can now use the central dashboard to enforce real-time Data Loss Prevention policies across your entire workforce.

  • Configure Restrictions: Toggle security rules like blocking downloads, restricting uploads, or disabling audio.
  • One-Click Deploy: After making your changes, simply click the "Deploy Policies" button on the dashboard.
  • Instant Synchronization: Your new security rules are instantly pushed and enforced on all approved employee computers in real-time.
